NATIONAL PARTNERSHIP
Contributions from the national level are used to:
- Provide start-up funding to new State Hospitality Education partnerships.
- Create marketing and promotional materials for national and state use.
- Help change the image of the industry into one that offers many career opportunities.
- Professional development activities for classroom instructors.
- Establish standards for classroom lessons and internship experiences.
- Publicize and promote the national industry certificates.
- Assist bi-annual State Directors' roundtables and workshops.
- Create general awareness and media outreach about the industry, its career opportunities and successful programs throughout the U.S.
- Produce newsletters and other communication vehicles with schools, administrators, instructors, students, employers and others.
STATE PARTNERSHIP
Contributions at the state level are used to:
- Identify schools and communities to implement ProStart programs.
- Work with State Department of Education and local district officials to ensure that industry training materials meet state and district curriculum and programmatic criteria.
- Train teachers on use of industry-created classroom materials.
- Recruit industry employers to provide paid student internships.
- Train workplace mentors to provide well-rounded, structured internships for students.
- Conduct recognition and celebratory events for successful students, teachers and mentors (scholarship dinners/luncheons, award ceremonies).
- Public relations campaign to generate awareness of industry careers and successful programs.
- Generate positive impact on the state.
